Join us every Saturday for some Outdoor Sports and Recreation (OSR). We will alternate each weekend between hiking Riverplace Trail and hill sprints at Canyon Vista.
February 24 at 1:30 we will be taking on Riverplace Trail. This is open to all anyone interested and ALL fitness levels. This trail can be enjoyed at a slow conversational pace and challenged at a more aggressive running speed. There are roughly 2,700 built in steps and a about 1700 feet in elevation change. This makes for an incredible leg strengthening and calorie burn hike. The distance from the bottom (pond) to top is about 3 miles. You can opt to return the same way for a total of 6 miles or take the road loop back which is 1.5 miles for a total of 4.5 miles. Try not to be intimidated by the distance, it's very manageable and flys by with some good company. The trail is moderately trafficked at this time so be mindful of others if running. There is water at the park near the bottom of the trail and leashed dogs are welcome.
We will meet at the trailhead by the pond at 1:30. There is parking at the park across the street on the road as well as next to the tennis courts. We will start as a group but it is recommended to challenge the hike to the best of your ability if training is the goal.
